We have established an economic development team that is going to help establish new businesses as well as providing resources to existing businesses.

The City Council has been inspired by the motivation of our community. We have a representative that attends and gives a report on all of our CCC projects at the City Council meeting monthly.
We have included people of all types of needs in visioning & leadership. Previously uninvolved leaders have emerged from leadership training and were drawn out because of the variety of projects.
We have empowered our local citizens to become involved in shaping their own futures. And we are all accepting that change is OK.
The Canyon Communities Coalition is working with the Riggins City Council to keep communication open and to use all available resources to help with poverty in our area.
WE bought our own bus to take the handicapped and elderly to and from doctor’s appointments in McCall and Grangeville and to help them get to appointments and things in our own community.
Our community is working on economic development, gun club, leadership training. We are having our own leadership training next month. What a wonderful start to a new year.

The EDT meeting is set for January 6 at 6:00 pm at the Hells Canyon NRA.
CABS has a bus!!!!! Woo-hooo!!!!!!! CABS recently put in a bid for a bus from Valley Transit in Lewiston, and got the bid. Now the hard work starts. We have to start doing fundraisers to pay the donors back and we also have to get money in order to get gas for the bus. But good job to all who worked on this bid!!!!!!
Three of us went to the Grant writing training on Thursday. We learned a lot! Janet Burke, the instructor, was a really neat lady who taught us how to write a grant correctly.
Our President, Jon Wilson, went to the Horizons Non-Profit Organizations training this last Thursday and will give us a full report at our next meeting. He did say that it was a good meeting and has some ideas that we can run with.
The Canyon Communities Coalition has a board meeting on December 18 at 5:00 at City Hall. We will be discussing our grant writing training and our status on our projects, and our status on 501c3.
Don’t forget… There is a CABS meeting December 11th at 6:00 at City Hall! Come see if we got our new bus.
